Turn a deaf ear to gossip rubbish

While many easily indulge in gossip they are not aware of the consequences
The mills work tirelessly. They grind and grind and grind. And finally spew out the remainder that is completely unrecognisable from the original version. We are not talking about the sugar cane machines that extract delectable juice. Ladies you are right, yes the gossip mill it is.
Rumours and gossips have interested people since time immemorial.Somehow John’s interest in Vidya and Beyonce’s pregnancy cause more flutter than even Headley being chargesheeted by NIA. There are so many of us who do not mind indulging in what we label ‘a harmless chitchat session’. But believe the wise old man who said that gossips hurt and it is exactly these chitchat sessions that turn into a full fledged gossip floor.
Imagine what agony it would be to hear the next door Petunias discussing your elopement. This would be adding insult to your injuries especially when you do not have a boyfriend and happen to be very much stuck in the same old neighbourhood. An even worse situation could be when you overhear the gossip-women discussing your friend’s or your parents’ inaccurate life matters. Ouch! That will certainly hurt.
It is then that we realise that these fun filled sessions are completely capable of ruining our spirits or reputation. Don’t feel shattered, there are ways to deal with it. The best way would be to step amidst a live session and politely point out proper facts to the ladies. That may not work out. The other option would be to ignore. If that does not end it, then a sarcastic and yet subtle remark on their inaccuracy (in an audible manner) would be fine. But whatever be, never hit the roof! People say that is equivalent of almost confirming their dirty buzz.
The tongues that are used to lolling will probably do it forever. A strong gaze at them will make them flinch for they know the veracity of their tittle-tattle. Forget them. Turn a deaf ear to all the rubbish. And oh, of course never indulge or be indulgent in such sessions.
